Dover[]

Dover Elevators was an American-based elevator manufacturer and was a division of Dover Corporation. The company manufactured passenger and freight elevators from 1955 to 1999, and was the 3rd largest elevator company. They still manufactures automotive lifts under the "Rotary Lifts" name.

thyssenkrupp AG (former writing ThyssenKrupp AG) is a German multinational conglomerate which produce steels and industrial engineering related products and technologies. thyssenkrupp Elevator AG, formerly owned by thyssenkrupp AG, produces elevators, escalators and moving walkways, and is currently the fourth largest elevator manufacturer in the world behind Kone, Schindler and Otis. ThyssenKrupp is the result of a combination of two German companies; Thyssen AG and F. Krupp AG which merged together in 1999. thyssenkrupp's Elevator Technology division was acquired by a private equity consortium led by Advent, Cinven and RAG foundation on July 31, 2020. thyssenkrupp AG gave a short-term transitional permission to use its name as company's name. In February 2021, the company was converted from a joint-stock company into a limited company under German law, named TK Elevator GmbH, and adopted TK Elevator as its company name (branded as TKE; "TK" in TK Elevator stands for ThyssenKrupp, its previous owner).

Kone[]

Kone (officially typeset KONE, and pronounced "KOH-nay" or "KOH-neh") is the fourth-largest elevator manufacturer in the world and (possibly) the world's largest production of machine room less (MRL) elevators (also pioneering in this market as the world's first manufacturer massively-producing MRL traction elevators). It is currently headquartered in Espoo, Finland. Kone also has it's own elevator test centers located in Tytyri, Finland called Kone High Rise Laboratory which is a limestone mine currently still running, and Kunshan, Jiangsu, China. Kone is also an escalator, moving walkway and automatic doors manufacturer, thus making Kone the most complex manufacturer of building systems.

Otis[]

Otis Elevator Company is the world's largest manufacturer of vertical transportation solutions, especially elevators (which Otis invented in most recently known form) and escalators. The company was founded in 1854 in Yonkers, New York, USA by Elisha Otis, who invented the safety mechanism of the elevator should the hoisting rope break. This was created due to an accident with a freight lift at a local factory that injured the people using it. From 1976 to 2020, Otis was a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation. It was spun off on April 3, 2020. They have an elevator test tower in Bristol, CT which is about 28 floors. They also do tours of the test tower. They primarily test free-falls on their new, and old elevators. They also have some European Otis Gen2s there.
